Friday, Feb. 4: National Wear Red Day is a reminder that we can do a lot to maintain and improve our heart health. It occurs in America on the first Friday in February of each year, where people wear red to observe the National “Wear Red Day”.
At UMAS, our seniors observed this day by wearing red. We follow all the health guidelines to keep the seniors healthy starting from healthy and nutritious diet to Yoga and exercise. Jayshree Nagaraj of Metro Home Health gave a speech on Heart Health to the seniors. Her focus was to keep the blood pressure, sugar level and Cholesterol at a safe level. Heart disease kills more women in the United States than the top five cancers combined. It is so important that we manage our stress through exercise, 30 – 45 minutes of workout per day. Following a healthy diet, meditation, and getting enough sleep is also important!
Lets join together and keep our Hearts Healthy!
